EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
Join our salute to Mother Nature this Earth Day, Sunday, April 22. The Children’s Nature Retreat Foundation’s festivities get underway at 11am and run until 1:30pm. It is going to be a “special time-out” at the Retreat with a fun-filled schedule of activities:
11AM: A Sun Salute gathering – a stretching session near the picnic area. We’ll reach for the sky, bend to the earth and twist like the wind.
11:30 AM: Meet Sandy the camel, the newest animal to call the Retreat home. Our animal keeper will introduce you to Sandy and tell you all about our one-humped friends.
12:00PM: Special Earth Day, Rock the Hunt Game: Find the special rock hidden somewhere around the Retreat and win a prize. (Find out what rock to look for at the picnic area at high noon.)
12:30PM: Rooster crowing contest at picnic area. Who comes closest to mimicking our Bantam roosters? Yes, a special prize for the best crower!
1:00PM: Meet Oni, our newest Sulcata tortoise. Learn all about Oni and all our tortoises at Tortoise Landing.
